Pick the market before you pick the brand

Everything on this site starts with the same question — Alberta or Ontario — because the age, the authorising body and what an account may offer all change at the border. The same question comes first for any other operator, including this one.

Advertisement. This is a paid placement: if an account is opened through the button this site receives a commission, and you pay nothing extra. It is not a ranking, a recommendation or a check of whether 22Bet may serve you. In Canada online gambling is authorised province by province. The legal age is 18 in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec and 19 in Ontario, British Columbia and Saskatchewan, and it is decided by where you physically are, not where you live or where your account was opened. In Ontario an operator must hold an AGCO registration and an iGaming Ontario agreement; the advertised operator is not in the iGaming Ontario directory. In Alberta the responsible body is AGLC; elsewhere it is BCLC, SLGA, Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, Loto-Québec or Atlantic Lottery. Never use a VPN or inaccurate registration details to pass a location or identity check. Before depositing, read the wagering requirement, the qualifying action, the expiry, the maximum bet and the withdrawal conditions on 22Bet’s own terms page. Gambling is entertainment that costs money and is not a way to earn it; free, confidential help exists in every province.

What Alberta players can access

The Alberta product includes online casino games, live dealer content and a mobile sportsbook. The exact catalogue changes as games, suppliers and sports markets are added or removed. Use filters and search rather than treating a launch-day game count as permanent.

  • Live dealer casino
  • Pre-game and live sports markets

Registration and verification

Expect to provide accurate identity and address information. Age, identity and location checks are central to regulated access. Documents may be requested if automated checks cannot confidently match the information supplied.

Use a payment method in your own name and review the cashier limits before depositing. A completed deposit does not remove the possibility of later verification before withdrawal.

Alberta player-protection tools

BetMGM’s Alberta launch materials describe deposit limits, session reminders, cooling-off periods and integration with Alberta’s centralized self-exclusion system. Set practical limits while calm, and use a cooling-off period if play stops feeling recreational.

How to check the registry yourself

Alberta’s market is overseen by the Alberta iGaming Corporation, with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis as the market regulator, and AiGC publishes a public directory of registered iGaming sites. BetMGM is in that directory, listed as “BetMGM Sportsbook & Casino” — read on 9 October 2026.

Two things about that reading matter if you intend to rely on it. The directory names sites rather than operators, and it carries no “as of” date of its own, so an entry can be added or removed without any visible marker; a dated reading is all anyone can honestly give you, including us. And the regulator’s own site, aglc.ca, was returning a server error when this page was last checked, which makes the AiGC directory the practical place to look rather than a second-best one.

Worth stating alongside it: Alberta’s 18 is one year below Ontario’s 19, so an account that is eligible in one province is not automatically eligible in the other. The age follows the province you are physically in, not the province you registered from.
